Understanding how learning happens and connecting that to our educational approach is crucial to effective teaching and learning.
The IB Primary Years Programme allows students to immerse themselves in various learning experiences that transcend the “chalk and talk” routines that have become stereotypical of educational practice.
Students are active, curious participants in their individual learning journeys. They are encouraged to co-plan, co-assess, and take responsibility for their growth both personally and academically.
Soon we will be wrapping up our first Units of Inquiry for the year in Grades 1 – 7 and I am so excited to see the culmination of these learning journeys.
Having had a sneak preview of these final tasks, I cannot wait to share some of the exciting work our students have been doing with you, our learning community, in the next Newsletter.
Stay safe! Keep inquiring, engaging, and building curiosity along with your children!
Yours in Education
